Can't do anything with reports

I have a database used by about 30 or so people.

Some of us can started having a problem today (2/15) with not being able to
do anything with reports. Cannot preview them by - can't design them - can't
create new ones.

However, many of the users can access these reports just fine as they always
have been able to.

I'm starting to suspect that the pattern to this problem is the 2/13/2007
Critical Updates that some of us have applied to our system. I received
notice that these updates had been downloaded and were ready to install
yesterday (2/14). I installed them as I always do. The other users who
CANNOT access the reports seem to remember applying these updates in the last
couple of days.

The users who CAN access the reports have not applied these updates.

The problem is only affecting reports. I can view, design, and create new
tables, queries, and forms without problem.

I've also created a completely new database with a single table on my
desktop. I cannot even create a report in this database.

No error message is displayed when trying to view or design existing
reports. Attempting to create a new report results in the message "The
wizard cannot create your report." No error number.

Any advice would be appreciated since I'm completely stumped.

Access 2003 with db in Access 2000 file format. I also tried converting it
to Access 2003 format -- did not solve the problem.

hi,

First of all, repair and compact your database.

Check wether a printer is installed and check if one of them is the
default printer. I had the problem once, that there was no default
printer defined despite there were some printers installed.

Check if the default fonts are still available.

Check if you can run any report when disabling a virus scanner.

Check the references.

Take such a non-working database and test it on your working PCs. Does
it display any report. If so, then try to uninstall the patches and retry.

I'm starting to suspect that the pattern to this problem is the 2/13/2007
Critical Updates that some of us have applied to our system.
This is a possible cause.
