Can't display TV on extended desktop

J

I have the extended desktop and two monitors working fine. I can move
Windows Media, maximize, and it maximizes to the 2nd monitor like it
should. However, I can't move the ATI TV window to the second monitor!
What's with that?! Am I missing something?

TV only displays on the primary monitor ordinarily. Once, somehow,
without meaning to, I managed to get things configured so that it would
move to the second monitor, but I could not replicate the configuration.

Not sure why you can't do that, but you could do one of a couple of things
as a workaround:
1) Not use extended desktop, set up the clone mode.
2) Switch primary and secondary displays.

Video overlay DOES NOT work on secondary display. Enabling "theater mode"
though might work (video displayed full screen on secondary monitor/tv out).
As to why ATI TV doesn't work, and WMP does I have no idea.

That depends on your configuration.

Yeah, thats what I said... set up the clone mode, either to theatre or same
on all, but that requires removing your extended desktop.

That is pretty strange, but I don't know how the ATI TV app works, I presume
that it is not an overlay.

Please explain "Theater Mode". I am not familiar with this. Where is it set?

How will clone mode help me? It displays the same thing on both monitors.
Why it gives me the option of which monitor to display video on, I still get
a blank window on my main monitor and can't do any work on it, so I don't
see how that helps. Is that what you meant by "Theater Mode"?
The idea is to do work on one screen while watching TV on the other.

Thanks,

Theatre mode takes the overlay from the primary screen and sticks it on the
secondary scree, maximised.

I see what you need to do and theatre mode is possibly not the best option
as it requires you to be playing the video on the primary screen - you can
make it as small as you like though.
