Can't Delete Users

I get the following error when trying to delete users on
my Windows 2000 Pro w/SP4 installed:

"The following error occured while attempting to delete
the user :"

"An invalid Active Directory pathname was passed"

I am also not able to add users to groups.

Any idea on how to fix this?
