Can't Delete This File (>)

Thanks for the many suggestions - nothing worked.

Went thru the referenced MS KB articles. All seem good, but fail when
they reach the '>' character. If the command is executed, it fails
because the character is illegal in a file name.

If it weren't an illegal character, then I wouldn't have the problem. I
have exhausted all known resources and I thank you for your help.

I move the file to a directory called 'BAD' and there it shall remain!

If you can move it to a different directory, why can't you move it
to the Recycle Bin? Or move the directory to the Recycle Bin?

And did you actually try what I and others proposed:
erase ? /p

YES, REALLY!
1. erase ? /p does not give an error message - but does not delete the
file.
2. I can drag and drop the directory (in Explorer) to a new location.
But, if I drop it in the Recycle Bin, it give me the error "Cannot
delete >: The filename syntax is incorrect."

[scratches head]

Well, that's a new one on me. But thanks for the clarification --
at least next time I'll know not to offer advice that doesn't work.
