can't delete folder or files

I moved a subfolder with a number of files and other
folders from one folder on the server to another. Then
while attempting to apply new rights, I received the
following error.

error occurred applying security information access denied

All but two subfolders have been successfully moved
elsewhere and deleted from here as a work around to get
the rights set properly. Two remain. They show only
everyone with access and at read only. How, can I delete
this from the server. I am the administrator, but I
don't have explicit rights here for these folders (I
should). I can cut and paste anywhere I want and it will
move, but I can't delete it.

Try to "take ownership" over the problematic folders and move/delete them after that.
