cant delete "deleted items" in outlook express

after deleting an item from inbox it goes to "deleted
items". i used to be able to empty "deleted items" but
now it wont empty out or delete. When I try to do this I
get a window that says deleted items cant be deleted,
error. how can i fix this so that i can empty
out "deleted items" folder in outlook express?

In WinXP, OE's DBX files are by default marked as hidden. To view these
files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start
| Control Panel | Folder Options | View.

Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store folder will reveal the location of your
Identity's store. Write it down.

Close OE. In Windows Explorer, navigate to your store and delete Deleted
Items.dbx. A new one will be created when you open OE and you should be
able to empty Deleted Items once more.

Now, bone up on recommended OE maintenance to avoid this in future:
