can't create a new internet connection

I have been having a problem getting XP to print for a
month now. So we decided to try reinstalling XP.

Not only did that not fix the printing problem, but now I
cannot connect to the internet on that computer.

I get an error 711 when I try to create a new connection.
This lead me down the path of a problem with the reomte
access connection manager service.

If I try to start the services I get the following errors:

Could not start Remote Access Connection Manager service
on local computer. Error 5: Access is denied.

Could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager
service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency
service or group failed to start.

Any clue as to what to do from here?

Looks to me like article #329441 answers your question.

I have the same problem and am going to try this answer
sometime today 9-22-03--will let you know.
