Can't copy and paste into word from the internet

Hi

I have microsoft word 2000 running on my PC (windows XP) and I can't copy
and paste from the internet into word as it freezes. I can copy and paste
from the internet in to publisher without any problems.

Are you certain it freezes? It might be re-downloading
the data and you have to wait for the download to
complete. Yes, it'll do this, even though you copied
from a displayed page right in front of you. Try a
simple shorter page and see if that's what it's doing.
You should be able to see "retrieving ...." in the
status bar at the bottom.

It carries on for ages usually until I cancel it or it freezes. Its usually
one or two sentences I am copying not whole pages so it should be quick.
 
Try using Edit | Paste Special: as Unformatted Text.
