can't copy a table using "save as"

I want to make a copy of some tables to save them before I run some
queries so I did "save as" on the table and I named table 1, for
example, copy of table1. It won't let me do this, it says "invalid
argument". Is there a prohibition on saving copies of tables? I
don't think it will let me make a copy of the table and then paste
either. I would like to know why so I don't make a mistake.

thanks,

To make a back up copy of your table, simply right-click on the table
name and select Copy.
Click off of the table name and right-click Paste.
Re-name it, and select Structure and Data.
Click OK
