cant connect when user logged in to console

ive tried to log in to my home PC while i am logged in at the console. IT
should simply switch from console to RD but instead after i put in my user
name and password RD immediately exits and im back to the connect to screen
no error messages. I tried to log in using a different account and got same
issue

issue, i had this problem once before and i simply reinstalled windows
again but i have recently lost the discs can anyone help solve this probelm
