I used to have Windows 2000 (2 weeks ago), and just updated to XP Prof.
previously I could see the WiFi networks, & access internet.

Now, on XP, stupid Windows can 'see' my flatmates Wireless network, says I
am 'connected', and even show that 'sent/received' info screen. But...
Explorer says I'm not connected to the internet!
this is driving me crazy! I've been trying to find what to do/change for 10
days.
of course, Windows 'help' is useless, and wants to connect me to a webpage
to help. Hmmm.

thanks
Scott.

ps- my flatmate's 4yr old (crap) Apple Mac can find network & connect str8
away. NO settings or fiddling required. Urgh.

Uhmmm... some more info, please.
Your IP is assigned by DHCP or manually? Go to Run, type CMD, and then in
the command prompt type IPCONFIG and tell us what it says.
