Can't connect to the Web

I am trying to fix a student's computer and am having this difficulty. I can only get onto the Internet from booting in the Safe mode. I am unable to get to either Symantec or McAfee sites, but can get to all else in the Safe mode. When running both Adaware and Spybot, I end up with a file that I cannot get rid of and am unsure if this is the problem. That file is described as HuntBar and its location is: HKEY_LoCAL_MACHINE\Software\BTIEIN

Help. Thanks

Your Winsock stack could be damaged...
Check this webpage for a free tool to repair it.
Scroll all the way down this webpage to find 'third party
repair tools"
They work, I've had the same issue after removing some
spyware...

May be time for this:

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads.php#det
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.
