Here's a good one.... My set up: Home wireless network,
desktop hard-wired to router, laptop wireless to router.
W2K, FP2000. Both PCs configured exact same way for
internet connection (TCP/IP) and every option in IE6 same.
My laptop can connect to my web server fine for ftp. My
desktop cannot connect - receiving this message "Could
not find web server at'ftp.webservername.com' on port 21.
Please make sure that the web server name is valid and
your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure the
everything is correct, the web server may be temporarily
out of service." Since my internet connection
configuration and my proxy settings for IE6 on both PCs
are the same; I can connect on my laptop OK; I can ping
server ok from my desktop; not sure what else is wrong --
this is driving me bonkers!!!
