Can't compress zip files

I can't create zip files in Explorer in my limited user account. The options
to "Send To" or create a new compressed zip folder are gone. It's fully
functional in my admin account. I tried Kelly's fix, but all that did was
change the file association. Are there any other fixes for this?

Try this...

Start | Run | Type or paste this in the box:

regsvr32 zipfldr.dll

Click OK.

And this...

Start | Run | Type or paste this in the box:

regsvr32 cabview.dll

Click OK.

The change will take effect immediately, but you may have to restart Windows
for all features of the built-in ZIP support to be available.

Doesn't do it. As it's a limited user account, I have to run it as an
administrator. May be registering it in that account.

I created a test account to see if I could recreate the problem. It was also
a limited account. I created a zip file, was prompted to set Explorer as the
default zip app and clicked "yes". Couldn't create another zip file after
that. Any clues?

Jon,

Try the ZIP Folder Association Fix (Restores default associations for ZIP
Folders - REG File)

Last item on the list at...

Windows® XP File Association Fixes

http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

The files listed here are all ZIP files, which contain a REG (Registry)
file. Download the ZIP and open it. Extract the REG file to your hard disk
and double click it. Answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be
viewed in Notepad. Each of the REG files contains the default settings for
the file extension indicated. For the ZIP file fix, the download is a REG
file, since ZIP's aren't working anyway!
