Cant change login pic!

Hi. I have gone into my user account to change my pic on
my welcome screen and selected the picture i want to be
displayed when i login. Unfortunately it doesnt change
when i restart my computer! My user account is set to
administrater. My partner is also havin the same problem.
I am realy board of seeing chess pieces as my login on my
welcome screen! PLEASE can someone help me!!!
