I have a win2000 machine that I'm trying to connect to a
network and share files and so, the machine it self can
access the internet but when I connect it through my
linksys wireless router this is what I get
1. Can't change Identification changes",I need to change
the 'WORKGROUP NAME" which id grayed out, and it says
that "You must install network before you can change this
computer's domain membership".
2. does it matter if I switch between 2 computer with
same name on the same router port.

thanks

In Control Panel/networking properties make sure that Client For Mycroft Networks is
installed and enabled and that you are logged on as an administrator when you try to
change computer and workgroup names. You don't want to have two computers with the
same name on the network. The link below may help--- Steve
