Can't Browse from RRAS

J

I have setup a W2K advanced server with 2 nics and setup RRAS. VPN clients
seem to be able to access then network fine so both NICs must be working,
but for some reason the RRAS server cannot browse the Internet. I also
installed DNS and WINS services on this computer if that is of any concern.

I don't really need to browse from this server so if it is completely locked
down for everything except for RRAS that is OK, but I would like to know
why.

How did you configure the server? Did you use the "VPN Server" option in
the setup wizard?

If you did, the wizard installs packet filters to block all traffic
except VPN traffic.

Actually I did use the wizard, but when I went to the TCP/IP properties for
the external nic I did not see anything listed in the IP filtering. Enable
IP filtering is not checked. Where can I see what is filtered and change
the filters?

Actually, I found the setup, but not sure hot to allow web traffic. What
are the filters I should add?

I had a similar problem before with Win98 PCs connecting to my RRAS server.
I changed my settings in the DHCP server to issue the WINS server address on
the local network and I also had a change to the Node Type settings. I
believe the WINS setting is number 0x042 and you put in the WINS IP address
and I believe the Node type setting on the DHCP scope is 0x046 and the node
type is 0x08.
