Can't boot from a winxp cd and system bios shadowed

I've had problems with boot from a WinXP cd. I've a HP desk top PC.
BIOS Version/Date: Phoenix Technologies Ltd. IP.01.06US. When I started
the screen it showed "Standard Bios shadowed, Vedio bios shadowed" . it
doesn't show "pree any key to boot from CD..."

Would you please teach me how to disable system bios shadow? - means
unshadow!

The fact your BIOS is "shadowed" has nothing to do with anything important
here.

Go into your system BIOS (by pressing whatever key it tells you to press to
get into System Setup..) and change the boot order so CD drive is first.

See an HP logo filling the screen when you first turn on the computer?
Start tapping ESC right after you do and see if that changes.

Thank you very much for your email and I've already changed the boot
order to CD drive first. But it still doesn't show the message "press
any key to boot from CD..."

I had a long story to tell, sorry about that.

I had two drives on the HP PC. Everytime when I turned on the first
appear message is "Norton Antivirus can't protect C:\ Access decline"
So I think the C drive was infected by virus and I try to reformat the
C:\ to install a new winXP on it. With other PC at home, it's simple.
just change the boot setting in bios and when the message " "press any
key to boot from CD..." appeared It boot from winxp CD, then I can
delate partition and format the c drive...

But in this HP pc I just can't delate the partition in C: and when I
intalled a new winXP (not repaired) in windows, the above message still
there!

Then I intalled the Winxp on D:\. and installed partitionMagic 8 on
D:\. Through partitionmagic 8, I delate the C:\ and reformat it. after
that I can't boot!

I tried to boot from a window 98 boot disk, but fdisk didn't reconize
the NTAS( can't delate the partition), the C:\ only had 8M, couldn't
install a window98 on it.

Could you please teach me and help me!!!
