Can't access websites by typing URL in address line without prefixing it with
http:// This seems to have happened since the latest update from MS. I also
have a process running called verclsid.exe - there are 16 identical processes
running with this name.

Can anyone help?

We posted the same problem almost simultaneously. Happened across the
solution when I notices another thread with a second problem I'd seen:

See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165
"Problems in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell after you install
security update MS06-015".

I just discovered the same exact issue last night...anyone else respond to
you? I looked for an update and got nothing...

I am having the same problem.
I tried to do the Regedit resolution, but can't change the data value to 1.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

Right click on it after you save it..modify it...in the box, you will see the
value is 0..change it to 1
