Can't access the Access 2003 Wizards

I'm trying to import an Excel spreadsheet to Access, but I get an error
message saying it can't find the wizard, I've tried to reload Office but it
doesn't work. I've even selected the Specific wizards under the Add Features
and it still doesn't work.

Any suggestions.

This can be caused by a number of different things. Just off the top of my
head, try taking a look at a couple of things:

1) Do you have multiple versions of Access installed. Although it is
TECHNICALLY possible to have, say, Access 97 and Access 2000 on the same PC,
it's not recommended and can cause problems just like this one.

If you have more than one version of Access, I'd suggest uninstalling the
older one and reinstalling the newer one.

2) How are you running Access? Are you using a shortcut that was created by
the installation routine, or one you created yourself? Right-click on the
shortcut you're using to start Access and check to see what the "Target"
value is, and reply to this post with what you find.

Hope that helps!

Actually, on the 2nd point, I meant to say right-click on the shortcut,
select PROPERTIES, then look at the "Target".

The targe is, Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. I only have this
version of Access installed on my computer.

Thanks,

Are you able to run ANY of the Access Wizards? What happens if you run the
Form Wizard? Create a query using the Find Duplicates Wizard?

If these don't work either, this may be symptomatic of the following issues:

You may receive the "Microsoft Access can't find the wizard" error message
when you use wizards in Access 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;835415

(Microsoft's fix: install the latest version of Jet)

You are unable to import Excel spreadsheets and HTML files in Access 2002
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303805

(Microsoft's fix: re-register accwiz.dll)

Another common approach to this sort of problem is to search for and rename
the following files:

Acwzmain.mde
Acwztool.mde
Acwzlib.mde

and then within Access run the Tools | Detect and Repair function. That will
have the effect of reinstalling these specific file, that run the Wizards.

HTH!

I can't run any wizards at all. Let me search through the Support Paths that
you sent and I'll let you know if I find anything.
Thanks,
