Can't access FrontPage root web site

Can't access FrontPage root web site (child webs no problem) server claims
site is too big to many files or folders. Is there a solution? What are my
options?

With FP closed, search for and delete all system/hidden .web files. Then see
if you can open the root web, if so, then create additional subwebs, for
content such as images or files that are available for download, etc.

Please excuse my ignorance but how do I search for and delete all
system/hidden .web files?

I've searched for (system/hidden .web files)(system)(system/hidden) with
search for hidden fies turned on-- all no results what am I doing wrong?

Under Folder Options | View make sure you have enable to view hidden/system
files.

Have also used ftp to delete 30 folders from site still get time out message

In Windows Explorer Tools Folder Options View - turn on the hidden / system / known files
