I have a similar problem with Microsoft Office2000
Standard,Excel. Itwill not boot. When trying to bring up
Excel the program locks and after pressing Ctrl-Alt-
Delete, I receive the message:
"The system is dangerously low on resources! -- Excel (not
responding)"
I have tried the following but the problem remains:
1. Rebooting the system.
2. Repairing with the Microsoft Office2000system disk.
3. Removing all of Microsoft Office2000 applications
and reloading using the system disk.
Comments would be appreciated.

Hi Jack,

Use Windows Explorer to search for all files on your hard drive with a
..XLB extension. Delete any that you find. Excel uses these files to store
information about toolbars, but they frequently become corrupted and cause
problems like this. Excel will create new versions of the .XLB files it
needs as soon as it starts up.

Hi Rob,
I deleted two "XLB" type files and Exel is working!
Thank you very much - I'm impressed.
