I am running xp home and caught a worm/virus that causes
my computer to reboot before I can login to windows get to
my desktop (including safe mode). I have installed a new
hard drive (as a master) installed xp home. My problem is
that I cannot access the folders that are under my profile
on my old hard drive. I have tried 1. sharing the folders
2. accessing the folders through the command prompt using
the cacls command. I was told that I could reload windows
without losing my data however when I attempt to either
reistall or repair windows I get the blue screen of death
with a 'BAD_POOL_CALLER' message after I select either
install or repair. I ran the Blaster worm removal tools on
my old drive and they did not find the worm (although
according to the security alerts my computer showed the
symptoms of blaster worm). I know the data is there I just
can't get at it. Any help would be appreciated.
