Can't Access Any Internet Resources

I have a Windows XP Pro machine with SP2. This machine is Running Norton
Internet Security 2003. I am having a problem accessing any internet
resources what so ever with two of the three user accounts on this machine.

Does any body have any idea WHY this would be happening or HOW it can be
fixed? It is rather annoying if I am on call and have to wake my wife up at
3am to have her logon so I can remotely connect to work. I would really like
to get this crazy issue resolved.

I have uninstalled and deleted all registry settings associated with Norton
Internet Security and rebooted multiple times. I now have it installed again
and even when it wasn't installed, I could not access the internet with any
Windows user account except for my wife's.

Please help. thanks

I too installed NIS and found that after an accidental [all to quick reflex,
click] response to one of it's messages: all internet access was blocked!
Also The performance of the PC was so terribly affected with all the NIS
processes running in the background.

I uninstalled and then used System Restore.

Norton is not getting onto my PC again.

I suggest you try System Restore, get a clean XP [free of Norton] and use
Windows Firewall or Zone Alarm = Peace of Mind and Usable PC.

If it were locking down access for the entire computer, I would believe that.
It is not, however. I have uninstalled NIS, removed all registry entries
etc and even with NO firewall installed, only the one account can get to the
internet.

I can get to all other internal network resources. I can ping my ISP's DNS
servers, I just can't get to the internet.
