Canon Status Monitor

How can I disable the Canon Status monitor? I have an i550 Printer on
a JetDirect card and nobody knows how to get it working through it.
The page will pring, but the status monitor barks saying the printer
isn't responding, when in reality it is.

Next time the status monitor window is open, click Option, uncheck
Enable Status Monitor and uncheck Always Display Current Job.
