canon s600 out of ink error message

i am out of magenta ink, but i just want to print a black and white
text message. I cant get past the out of ink error message even tho i
have set it to grayscale...manual...am most annoyed

That is the case with nearly all inkjet printers. They use some magenta
(and a little bit of cyan and yellow) to make the black ink look 'blacker'.
When you're totally out of ink in one cartridge, they ask for a new
cartridge.
