Canon printer i450

My computer runs on windows xp. Have got a Canon printer
i450, have inst~~~ed the driver, but my computer will not
recognise that I have new hardware am getting pretty
desparate. It is in the USB port.
I have inst~~~ed it ok onto my laptop - windows 2000.
Please, someone out there must know how I can get it to
work?????

Ann, check here. Did you install the software first before the Printer?
If not, try that. If you have Win2000 have you
installed all the winupdates?

When you say your computer doesn't see the device, do you mean it doesn't
show up in the Device Manager? R u using the XP printer driver from Canon? I
found it on
http://www.canon.com.hk/english/drivers_download/bubble_jet/i450.htm

(It should work - I wouldn't recommend you use the Win2000 driver on XP.)
