Canon PIXMA IP6000D

I am having a problem with a recently installed Canon PIXMA printer

I installed the printer the other day using one of the rear USB ports
and was working 'premo' but this morning I started up the computer and
tried to print something and said printer offline. I check all the
connections and nothing had been changed over night. So I decided to
reinstall the drivers but It wouldn't find the printer when connected
to the rear USB port. I tried all of the ports and found that it could
find the printer in the front two ports but only stayed online for
5-10min.

What have I done wrong? Is there something I can do to fix this?

I'm running a Dell DIM2400
2.40GHz
256MB of ram
and all USB 2.0 ports

Thanks

Sounds like typical USB behavior. In device manager, the printer should be
listed. If it's shown as an unknown USB device you can manually update the
driver and point it to the right file. But often it's quickest to just
unplug and re-plug the USB cable and/or cycle the printer's power.
Sometimes it just takes Windows a few times to get it right. Might also be
an issue with your USB controller.
