Canon ip4500 print quality

I have just installed a new print cartridge PGI-5BK. When I print a page every fourth or fifth line is faded and difficult to read. I have carried out every possible maintenance task without effect. Could the new cartridge be faulty?

If it's a genuine Canon cartridge, probably not.

If it's a refill, their quality is intermittent and some don't work very well at all.

Also, the heads could need cleaning, there may be a method in the printer software that will do this for you. Check your manual or online at Canon's site and see if the cleaner will self-clean it's heads.

Try to run cleaning cycle in your printer and shake your cartridge for while.Then try to run it.

I think the printer head is clogged.First of all shake your cartridge and then check it.
