Cannot Write Files to DVD

When I insert a DVD into my DVD-RW drive an empty folder appears. When I drag
files into this it says there is an error copying files, what do you want to
do? Retrying doesn't help so I have to cancel. Any ideas?

I have a Pioneer DVD-RW drive which I have updated the driver for. I can use
the DVD drive to watch DVD's and copy onto CD's I have never used it to copy
onto DVD's. Thanks

You need third party software to burn dvd's, Windows XP by itself can only
burn cd's not dvd's.
 
XP does not natively burn DVD's like it does CD's. You need a third
party program such as Nero to do it.
