cannot type messages in replies or new mail

Today when I tried to reply to an e-mail, I can type in the subject and
address lines but in the body of the response, nothing appears as I type. I
tried sending a new message (to myself) and it sent it to my address, but
nothing in the body of the e-mail where I typed it.

What format was the message in: HTML? RTF? Plain Text? Try changing it to
Plain Text, just for grins, and see if it works.

Any chance your font settings have been messed up? Maybe changed to tiny
type or white color? Tools | Options | Mail Format...

What version of Outlook are you using?

Thanks Ben, it was the font color which was white. How do I save that
without having to change it each time I type an e-mail? Not sure why this is
happening; been using this for several months.

thanks,
tim

look in tools, options, mail format... fonts. also, if using outlook 2003,
try renaming normal.dot.
