Hi,

How are you trying to turn it off? Start/run services.msc and double click
the System Restore service. Stop the service and set the startup type to
disabled.

It is started and auto matic in Services but the checkbox is not
checkable/uncheckable in the Properties of My Computer-System Restore

Hi,

Try turnign it off, then rebooting and turning it on. Are you running WinXP
Pro? It may be a group policy in effect.

Ok thanks. I'll check that. I stopped the service but it is still monitoring
the drives.
