Cannot start program on some Pocket PCs.

Hi

I few months ago I released a game and quite a lot of
people downloaded it, over 3000. I had only one user
report that the program did not work, program loads but
the screen is blank. He eventually performed a hard reset
to get it to work. At the time I didn't really think much
about the problem.

Anyway, recently I released another game, and the problem
has re-occurred and this time it seems more serious. Has
anyone experienced similar problems?

I have no idea as to how to fix it as I cannot reproduce
the problem on the emulator nor on my Pocket PC 2002? I
assume, since my games work on the emulator and they work
on my Pocket PC then it cannot be bugs in my code. So does
this mean that there is something wrong in .NET CF?

The games are BG Mines and All Mobile Casino, I'll be
grateful if people can download and tell me if they are
having similar problems. You can download them at
http://www.binaryfish.com . So far they work on a HP
Jornada 568 (PPC 2002), but fails on a HP 2215 (PPC 2003).

Thanks

Gavin

Hi

I develop .NET CF games too (see http://www.valil.com/products) and
yesterday one of the users reported an error - an OverflowException
was thrown when the game was loading. He has a PPC 2003 device (HP
iPAQ 5555) and the problem was that he installed .NET CF (even it's in
PPC 2003) probably SP2 (I could reproduce the problem with SP2, SP1
works fine). You know that SP2 has been temporarily recalled, but some
users may still have it.

Hope this helps,
Valentin

Hi Gavin,

I have this problem also (with the evaluation version). I
own an Ipaq 5455 and recently upgraded OS PPC2003.

The gamescreen is blank. The options I have to choose
before work fine. After a soft-reset I even got a 'A
managed ObjectDisposedException occured at
Application::Run+0xf

Application::Run+0xf
210ff09a2516b1a7::c44780989132
2395+0xa

OK to terminate.

Regards,
Jan

If you have an update I can try again.
