Cannot start IE after XP SP2 installed

When I start IE 6 up the window will come up and then disappear - no error
messages are given. I can use Mozilla just fine, Also Windows Outlook will
start up but when I select a e-mail to view, it also closes down without an
error message. Agian this didn't occur until I installed XP SP2 today.

I tried the sfc function with no success - I downloaded the XP SP2 and don't
have a CD to try to reinstall XP - is there another way to go about it?
