i've got a home network set up between a laptop running
windows XP and a desktop running windows 98 S/E,
both computers seem to aknowlege eachother on the network
because the password is authenticated and then it says
they are connected,
not here's the tricky part, the desktop pops up a message
after connecting that states "dirrect cable connection
was unable to display the shared folders on the host
computer. to see the shared folders type the name of the
host computer"
i then type the name of the laptop which isn now named
Laptop on its ID line, and it gives me the error :Cannot
find host computer,
i've tried everything i could think of to fix it,
I was wondering if theres any way to fix or bypass this
problem and share folders,
Or if anyone knows a better way to transfer files and
folders with either normal phoneline connection or the
direct paralelle cable please let me know.
does anyone know an easier way of doing this?
ciao
