cannot send photo email from gallery

The windows Photo Gallery has a function to email a photo.
I click email and it offers to resize. I choose the size and it says
preparing image but nothing happens. I expected an email to open up or
something.
I have filled in a bug report. Has anyone else had the same issue? Maybe I
am doing it wrong?

Works fine for me except that it uses Outlook (I have Office 2007 installed)
rather than windows mail which surprised me.

In fact I have not even configured Outlook and the picture I sent is setting
in the Outlook outbox. Looks like a bug to me.

When you selected the size and it prepared it, did you get a new email
window come up?

Sure does. If it is an Office bug, the Vista team will forward it, so you
only need to report it once.

I've had exactly the same problem. I have Office 2007 beta installed and
Photo Gallery insists in opening Outlook to send a picture even though
Windows Mail is set to be my default e-mail handler. I tried un-installing
Outlook, and then as the original poster reported, I get a resize window and
then Photo Gallery just sits there trying to find a program to open. I have a
CPU temp monitor and when this happens it gradually starts to show increasing
temp, telling me the CPU/or HDs are trying to do something, but can't. I also
tried Picasa and got the same result. Have not yet gone to the trouble of
installing Photoshop on the Vista Beta partion.

Sorry for the triplicate posts. I got an error message saying my post had not
succeeded, so I tried again. Bugs in reporting bugs ;)

Same problem here. Using Microsoft Fax gives the same error message.
I'm using: vista rc2 + office 2007 beta with tech refresh
