i get this message when i try to send emails from windows email. Only
started today
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR invalid command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

The "invalid command" may be caused by a wrong setting.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure the box for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication"
is unchecked.

If that was already unchecked, which antivirus are you running?

when i go to send out a email this is wha it get.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hey', Account: 'Windows
Mail', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The mail server name you are using ("SMTP") is incorrect.
Who is your email service provider? Or to ask that question another way,
what is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?
Your mail provider will typically have a web page that shows how to
set up an email program. If you need more help, tell us the name of
your email service provider.

I just need to know how to change the e-mail server. Currently its listed as
POP3 and this is incorrect. Also how do I know what server to connect to?

Tell us who your mail provider is, we are not looking over your shoulder!!

When you tell us who the provider is, we can tell you what to enter at
tools>accounts>select account>properties>server tab.

So get back with at least the bit after the @ in your email address, or your
ISP name.

The error message that Tracy quotes is not hers, she might be with Orange
etc, not Comcast?
For all we know?
