You did not read the correct ones though, the following is posted several
times per day.

Comcast no longer uses port 25, they now use port 587.
Tools>accounts>your account>properties>advanced tab.

See the link for all the account settings:

I'm having a similar problem sending mail. I get the following error below
using "microsoft mail" when I try to send mail. I only have this prob when I
use my laptop. The desktop sends and receives OK; but I use "outlook express"
on it.

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Serial For MS Office-Student 2007', Account:
'mail.dslextreme.com', Server: 'mail.dslextreme.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"

'Unexpected' termination is almost always caused by interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off your antivirus email scanning function does not resolve
your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it
is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus
programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
