Cannot see Folder Properties window

In Windows Explorer, if you right click a folder and
select Properties from the pop-up menu, you should see a
Folder Properties window with information about the
folder's size, sharing, security setting, etc. etc. I
used to have this and found it very helpful to manage my
files at the folder level. However starting today nothing
happens after I click Properties on the pop up menu. No
window whatsoever come up.

Strangely, I can still see a Properties window for
individual files. That is, if I right click on an
individual file and choose Properties from the pop up
menu, I can still see the properties window with the
properties of the file, sharing, security, etc.

Just not for any folders. Why???

Tried reboot, and other things, didn't work. I am using
Windows XP Pro. Please help.

Sonny If you click on View and go to Folder Options and the View Tab in Windows Explorer here is what needs to be checked to have that pop-up

Show Pop-up description for folder and desktop item

If that is unchecked that is your problem.

Thanks. Downloaded and tried System Workshop 2.3, didn't
solve my problem really. The program is nice, lets you
choose what options to appear in the pop up menu, however
my problem is not that.

Mine is when you click Properties on the menu, nothing
happens. There should be a properties window which allows
you to manage your folders.

And this problem only applied to folders, not individual,
or multiple files.

Any idea why? Thanks.

New findings about this program. It seems that Norton's
Internet Security 2002, 2003, 2004 are causing this
problem.

I tried this for at least 6 times. Every time after I
uninstall Norton Internet Security, the Folder Properties
window reappear. But every time I install them, the
Folder Properties window is gone. The same story for 2003
and 2004 version of NIS.

For 2002, it's more interesting, installing it doesn't
seemingly cause the problem, but updating it does.
Whenever I update it using LiveUpdate, Folder Properties
window gone again.

Who can help?
