cannot search google or view hotmail

hi, i'm having a problem as above - this only applies to
one user of my system . i have xp home + ie6 installed
and default settings for privacy and security .
could it be a virus - i've concientious about updating av
software and have a firewall installed.
can anyone help please ?

Download and run the program called: "HijackThis"

The program called: "Ad-aware" might be helpful too.

spyware, parasite, trojan or a browser hijacker from some web site:
