cannot save pictures as original file type, forced BMP save

For some reason when i try to save a picture from a web
page it forces me to save it as a BMP, even if the
original format is jpg. Any ideas?

That happens when the Temporary Internet Files are too full. In IE click
Tools | Internet Options. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet
files section of the General tab. On the nest window place a check mark in
the box to Delete all offline content.
