Cannot Run This Command

Hi All...

I have a problem that I just can't seem to get a handle on....

After my system(s) have been running for an hour or so, I can't start
programs. Clicking on desktop icons doesn't work, nor do the icons on the
quick launch bar, the system tray or the office shortcut bar. Click on them
and nothing happens! However, if I go to Start > Program Files > any
application, I get a dialog box stating "Unable to run this command!" Any
thoughts on what can cause this message?

Thanks,

Amanda

- Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch the Task Manager, then
check what's eating up your CPU time.
- Scan your PC with an external virus scanner,
e.g. on www.antivirus.com ("free online scan").
