Cannot reuse IP addresses

R

Robert Perkins

Could anyone tell me why clients on my network that have
a fixed IP address, the address all of the sudden become
unusable. I can ping other clients on the same subnet
that the client is on, but I have to assign another IP
address if I want to ping or login to servers on
different subnets. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Robert

You cannot access a machine directly thats on a different
subnet than yours without a router. You probably made some
changes with your servers IP configuration.

There is no logical reason this should happen, but there is also not any
details to use to try to solve the problem. You'll have to do more
investigating the next time it happens so that we have something to go on.
