Does it have an nVidia video card? I had to go back to using the XP drivers
for my 5200 as the nVidia Vista ones caused the machine to hang upon waking.
Could give that a go.

You'll lose glass however.

2G Ram

I have the same problem. I have a dell e1705. Whenever I resume from
sleep, everything seems to come back but the display, and I have to use the
power button to shut it down. Then it complains that it didn't start
properly when I start it back up.

I have an ATI x1400 video card which I am using the built in vista drivers
for (ATI's drivers seemed to pop up the display settings after every log
in).

Sleep/hibernate did work for me in one of the previous builds, beta 2 I
think.

I had a problem like this in earlier builds. Seat would look like it was
coming back from sleep and go into a black screen. What I would do, and I'm
not suggesting it will work for you, but you can give it a shot if you like,
was hit Ctrl-Alt-Del which would bring up the Windows Security screen from
which I could properly shut down the box. I know that doesn't fix your
problem, but if it works it'll save you from having to hit the Big Red
Button to restart the box.

Yeah, I tried that, didn't work. My work around right now is just to
disable sleep in my power plan.

Well... sorry 'bout that... I tried...

I've got the same problem, but fortunately I found the solution for that
(the sounds were ok, but screen was black, like something is happening in the
background). You should try to press the button to adjust brightness on your
display increase/decrese it helped me.

The solution is to try adjust your brightness level increase/decrease by
pressing the special button on the keyboard, it helped me.

Did you ever get a solution for this ?

I have a pair of Fujitsu Lifebook N3010. With XP - Shutting the lid would
put them into sleep or hibernate, and opening it would wake things up.

However, with RC1, RC2, and now RTM. If I shut the lid, the computer wakes
up but goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor offset to the left of
center.

Only the power button for a shut down and cold start gets things going.

Further I have tried from the Start Menu - going to SLEEP mode, and
Hibernate - And both of those also will not allow the computers to resume
without a Cold start from the power button.

On one of the computers, if I use the "Shut Down" from the Start Menu, it
will occassionally lock up on wake up -- Which is funny, cause it shows the
bios screen, it asks to boot from DVD or Hard Drive, and then goes to the
black screen with a blinking cursor. Hit the power button, and it boots all
the way through the second time.

It's as if something is affecting the "Soft" shutdown process.

Any thoughts or suggestions ?
