cannot receive mail

I am getting a error message. Use to work fine. I can send just not recieve.
I check the antivirus and took the scan off of that as I am running Trend
Micro pc-cillin 2007 I've also tried changing the password in mail and as
system admin. Help!!
Here's what I get.
Account: 'pop.charter.net', Server: 'pop.charter.net', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Delete that mail account. Restart Windows Mail and re-create the
account. The account may have become corrupted when you had
your antivirus scanning emails.

I tried what you reccomended and am still getting the same error message.
However it stated first that the server was not responding, and then second
asked me for user name and password then gave me the same error message.

I assume you have checked the validity of the username and password
by accessing your webmail at http://mail.charter.net/ .

As a test, you may want to uninstall your antivirus, to see if that makes
a difference. Are you running any other non-Microsoft security software
such as anti-spam, anti-spyware, or firewall?
