Cannot receive emails, but I can send them

When I open windows mail I get this:
Message number 4 could not be retrieved. Account: 'pop-server.maine.rr.com',
Server: 'pop-server.maine.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD

I get the same error for all 28 messages which are waiting to get into my
inbox. It's not an ISP problem. I have deleted all emails up to 2 weeks
before this started. I can get my emails by going on the internet and using
Time Warner Webmail, but this @$#*&^! Mail program is AFU. If it's not the
continuing "Script Error(s)" I had with XP SP2, it's this problem with Vista
SP1. If Mac had better games, I'd drop MS like a hot potato. I have
Computer Associates Internet Security Suite. Could it be that? I don't
think that I made any changes to that program prior to this latest problem.

Many antivirus programs need to have email scanning disabled to work well
with Windows Mail, so you may want to try that.

Also, did you have a Norton or McAfee antivirus program installed on
that machine in the past, perhaps a free trial version that often comes
already
installed on new computers?
