Cannot Put W2K Pro PCs into Workgroup

Mike

I took three PCs that had been ghosted on the enterprise network to a remote
site and connected them to a DSL router so they can connect to the main
facility by the shared DSL connection. I cannot put these three PCs into a
workgroup at the remote site and I can't setup a generic log on account
that'll let people log onto the PCs then enter their enterprise user name
and password to access the main facility. I believe if the PCs need to be
removed from the enterprise domain so they can join a workgroup. I need
this about six months ago but forgot how I did it.

Need to be able to administer user accounts and put these PCs into a
workgroup.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, this is a very confusing post and I'm struggling to find an actual
question in there. It sounds like you have a domain but you want remote
computers to be able to access the domain via DSL??? How exactly is the DSL
connection allowing access to the domain? Through VPN? Please clarify your
situation and maybe someone will be able to assist.

Sorry for the confusing post, Serverguy. The PCs were on the domain at the
main facility.
I took them to a remote site where the are connected to a Linksys DSL four
port router.
These PCs should be in a workgroup but the ghost image has them still joined
to the domain.
I' can't administer user accounts, domain, etc because so far I can't
connect to the server remotely.
I believe what I need to do is take them back to the main facility put them
back on the network.
Remove them from the domain, then when I get to the remote site I can put
them in a workgroup.
How can I create local accounts and remove them from the domain?

Please feel free to critique the above statements. What's confusing about
this is the first PC I took to the
remote site I was able to setup local accounts, however I wasn't able to
remove it from the domain.

Yes, you should unjoin the domain on those machines before taking them to
the remote site. As for logging into them to unjoin the domain, accounts
should have been setup on the images, how else could they have been joined
to the domain in the first place?
