For some reason using Windows Mail on my Vista Ultimate does not allow me to
post JPEG's.

I have intermittently and randomly been able to get Mozilla Thunderbird to
post.

I shall try posting that same JPEG as a follow-up to this message.

Any idea what might be happening?

If Thunderbird often has the same problem, it is probably something
common to both mail clients, like your antivirus or firewall.

Some NNTP servers block posting of images to non-binaries newsgroups. In
that case, the only thing you can do is post to a binaries group or to a web
space, and post the link instead.

That seems to be the case, Patrick! Thank you! I tried posting a simple
graphic to a number of different newsgroups using both Windows Mail and
Thunderbird. Some of them took it, some did not. Is there a listing anywhere
that describes workgroups allow for attachments? Or is it simply groups that
are .binary groups?

Binaries groups have the word "binaries" in their name. Other than that,
the restriction is generally imposed by the news provider, who may or may
not be your ISP. You'll need to check with your provider.

A number of ISPs have dropped their news services - that's why I pay for a
specialised news service, and it provides better performance than my ISP
ever dide.
