cannot open file represented by

I work with 6 files every month and this happens to at
least one of those each month. No one has been able to
tell me what is causing it. We think if you are saving it
or printing it do not do anything else with your computer
until the bars at the bottom of the application shows it
has completed this operation. We have seen where someone
tried to saving it immediately after selecting the print
function and it corrupted it.

If someone can provide a technical reason this happens I
would love to hear it.
