Cannot open EXE on W2K Server

I cannot open some executable files either by double-clicking in windows
explorer or from Start=>Run. When I double-click a new EXE file that I
created this week or a new application that I got this week, nothing happens.
There are no error messages. I checked the registry and all seems normal. My
anti-virus, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Ad-Aware did not locate any
unpleasant surprises. The same new EXE files that will not launch on my W2K
Server will launch just fine on another pc. Older EXE files (older than a
week) can still open ust fine. Could it be that some application on my server
is blocking my EXE files that were created after a specific date? Can you
suggest something? Thanks.

Get in touch with the application developer to see if running the
application in this manner is supported and if so what prerequisites there
might be.

Most of the EXEs I am trying to open are slide shows that I created. Other
EXEs include new software that I try to install, but nothing happens.

* Ask in one of the development groups you coded in.

Sorry, it isn't helping. Maybe I should explain that slide shows that I have
created and then saved with the .EXE extension launch fine on other PCs but
not on my server, unless it's a slide show that I created at least a week
ago, then it opens as it should. I can run regedit just fine, but I cannot
install new EXE programs (not slide shows, any application). I checked the
registry keys and EXE is assigned to exefile and everything looks as it
should. Something is blocking EXE and I can't figure it out. Does that help?

What are you coding with? How did you compile to EXE? Arbitrarily changing a
file extension to EXE does not make it executable.

One of the Save options that I have when creating these slide shows is to
save it as an EXE file. In any event, this is just one application and it
doesn't explain why other EXE applications will not launch.

What applications are you using?
